In a recent visit with Modern Materials Handling, Scott Elliff, president of Capital Consulting & Management, Inc. (CCMI), shared the ten critical supply chain issues he sees for this year. The ten were released in the company's annual "Supply Chain Executive Agenda."
Issues such as the emergence of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology and improving return on investment (ROI) from software remain in the forefront for supply chains. CCMI advises executives to evaluate how RFID, smart tags and related technologies can be applied to deliver value across an entire supply chain. Elliff also emphasized the need to increase efforts in the implementation of training programs for supply chain software.
Other issues requiring attention include developing stronger collaboration programs, analyzing supplier spending, evaluating third-party logistics providers and capitalizing on data mining tools for supply chain planning. Contact CCMI to obtain the full agenda.
