Manufacturing report: Conveyor sales drop 35% in July
After a 41% increase from May to June, conveyor sales down 62 points.

Conveyor sales dropped 35% in July, down 62 points to 113, after a 41% increase from May to June, according to the Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association. This is down 24% from last July’s index of 149.
Nearly all indexes were slightly down, after growth from May to June. The Twelve-Month Index for booked orders was down 2% from June, to 148. The CEMA shipments index dropped 12 points, an 8% drop from June’s index of 155, but was up 2% from July 2007’s index.
The booked orders indexes were 193 for bulk handling equipment and 83 for unit handling equipment.
