Real time locating systems (RTLS), also called RF-location/tracking systems, are finally making their presence felt in many industry sectors where they need to track and have real time visibility of their assets.
Deepak Shetty of Frost & Sullivan (www.frost.com) says users can benefit from RTLS by tracking assets without being in line-of-sight. Real time information is available to authorized users via the company Intranet or network software. RTLS also helps in maintaining a complete log of movements and generates real time inventory of all tagged assets.
