CAPS joins Reuseable Packaging Association

A container management services company is joining forces with the Reusable Packaging Association to help develop new strategies for making supply chains “greener” and reducing packaging costs.

A container management services company is joining forces with the Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) to help develop new strategies for making supply chains “greener” and reducing packaging costs.

Container and Pooling Solutions (CAPS), which offers reusable container systems as well as rental and tracking systems, is the latest to join a list of RPA members working on the issue, according to a release from the company.

The company accepted an RPA invitation to assist in developing strategies after noticing a demand for more advice from companies on how to be more environmentally friendly.

“Recently, multiple companies have approached CAPS to evaluate their supply chain for greening opportunities in order to meet new industry standards for waste reduction and environmental compliance,” the company said in the release.

The RPA approached CAPS because of the company’s work in making, tracking and managing reusable packaging systems, according to the CAPS release.

“As a new RPA member, CAPS, along with our other container management members, will help us to more aggressively inform companies across the country about the wealth of benefits with reusable systems and more broadly implement new policies,” said RPA executive director Jeanie Johnson. “All of our member companies are aligned with our mission of promoting reusable packaging systems as the preferred - and ultimately dominant - solution for moving, storing and handling products throughout the supply chain.”
