Stretch wrappers protect grocer's pallet loads

With 13 distribution centers servicing 194 stores, Provigo Inc., one of Canada's food and grocery giants, has a demanding shipping schedule. Provigo's perishable produce DC in Boucherville, south of Montreal, must keep up with daily demand to ship an average of 250 pallet loads, for example.
"We use four to six stretch wrapping machines at each of our distribution centers," says Marcel Lamontagne, maintenance supervisor. "The dependability and serviceability of these systems have made them the stretch wrappers of choice at all Provigo distribution facilities."
Five semi-automatic systems at his facility offer flexibility because of their two-leg, free-standing gantry design. This stretch wrapper is suitable for use with forklifts, pallet jacks, or electric walkies.
