Rockwell Automation announced a global agreement with ProLeit AG that will allow ProLeit to more tightly integrate its Plant iT industry solution with the Rockwell Automation Logix Control Platform. Specifically aimed at applications in the brewing, dairy and related industries, the agreement will provide users with faster startup and commissioning of applications in an open architecture development environment.
Field-proven in a large number of applications worldwide, ProLeit’s Plant iT software relies on a programmable logic controller (PLC)-based platform for production control and data acquisition. Under the agreement, ProLeit will develop Plant iT to more closely integrate with Logix-based programmable automation controllers (PACs) from Rockwell Automation. ProLeit will also use FactoryTalk VantagePoint software, formerly known as Incuity, a manufacturing intelligence product from Rockwell Automation.
“ProLeit has established a strong reputation for providing PLC-based, industry-specific solutions, and we look forward to helping the company expand on that effort,” says Steve Eisenbrown, senior vice president of architecture and software for Rockwell Automation.“ This agreement allows ProLeit users to take advantage of the flexibility, scalability and multi-disciplined attributes of Logix, the industry’s most versatile PAC platform.”
The Logix Control Platform is a fully integrated, multi-disciplined control system designed to help users optimize production and improve the flexibility of their manufacturing operations. The platform’s open architecture design allows users to integrate data between multiple systems to help reduce programming time and ease future migration.
