Auto-ID leaders honored
AIM Global (www.aimglobal.org), a trade association for the automatic identification industry, honored four members of the auto-ID community at a recent awards gala in Washington, DC.

AIM Global (www.aimglobal.org), a trade association for the automatic identification industry, honored four members of the auto-ID community at a recent awards gala in Washington, DC.
The association gave its highest honor—the Richard R. Dilling Award for vital contributions to the development of the auto-ID industry—to Craig Maddox, a retired director of product management for NCR RealScan. According to the association, Maddox was instrumental in NCR's retail point-of-sale scanning developments and was a tireless contributor to many of today's bar code standards.
The Don Percival Award, which honors members of the auto-ID user community, went to Robert Leibrandt from the Office of the Secretary of Defense for his work with the military's Unique Identification (UID) program.
The Ted Williams Award, which recognizes educators and entrepreneurs, went to Victor Vega, director of tag product marketing for Alien Technology Corp., who has trained more than 2,000 RFID professionals at Alien RFID Academy and holds 19 RFID-related patents.
AIM Global presented its Excellence in Journalism Award to Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal.
