Reusable packaging producer ORBIS Corporation, a subsidiary of Menasha Corporation, announced its acquisition of plastic container manufacturer Norseman Plastics Holdings, diversifying the company’s product line.
Headquartered in Toronto, Norseman manufactures plastic reusable containers, trays, bins and pallets used in bakery, beverage, dairy, recycled material/waste collection, food service, agriculture and meat processing applications. They have approximately 600 employees in North America.
ORBIS, which has 1,200 employees worldwide, works with companies to move their product more efficiently with plastic reusable containers, pallets and protective dunnage.
ORBIS president Jim Kotek said the acquisition strengthens ORBIS’ position as a leader in plastic reusable packaging and provides the company with growth opportunities in diverse markets.
“Norseman’s diverse product line, strong customer relationships and industry knowledge are consistent with ORBIS’ vision and expertise,” Kotek said.
Norseman’s expertise in markets largely untouched by ORBIS will allow the company to “solidify and increase its share in targeted markets,” said Arthur W. Huge, president and CEO of Menasha Corporation.
Included in the acquisition were manufacturing and warehousing facilities in Toronto, Howell, Mich., Osage City, Kan. and Kissimmee, Fla.
