Lift truck game promotes safety
Yale Materials Handling offers free online video game and poster to encourage lift truck safety

Lift truck safety is a serious matter, but that doesn’t mean learning about safety can’t be fun. In this spirit, lift truck supplier Yale Materials Handling is now featuring a free online video game on its web site that allows players to select a lift truck and move product on pallets through a virtual warehouse.
The game—called “For the Long Run”—reminds players who are careless with their lift trucks that “only trained operators are authorized to use this equipment.”
At the end of the game, players are offered the chance to order a free safety poster that provides an overview of lift truck “do’s and don’t’s.” The poster reminds lift truck drivers to do such things as fasten their safety belts, travel slowly when turning and avoid driving with forks higher than a foot from the floor. Yale suggests hanging the poster in a breakroom or near a time-clock station.
In addition to the poster and game, Yale also offers lift truck operator training.
“Yale is committed to making the workplace a more productive, efficient and—above all—a safer environment for our customers and all companies,” says Don Chance, president of Yale Materials Handling. “The training and support services we offer complement existing safety programs companies have in place and provide unique and interactive ways to learn about product and workplace safety.”
