LXE Inc., a division of EMS Technologies, Inc., has announced that RedPrairie Corporation will be the first company to certify its software for use on the MX8 rugged mobile computer with the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. The MX8 handheld computer will be utilized as part of the RedPrairie Store Inventory Management, a leading web-based enterprise back-office solution.
“LXE’s ergonomic lightweight, yet extremely rugged terminal provides a robust platform for execution of the inventory and merchandise management functions for which RedPrairie’s Store Inventory Management solution is known,” says Gary Morgan, vice president of technical services, RedPrairie.
The MX8 handheld computer will also be a dynamic addition to the other RedPrairie software suites that support general retail and grocery-drug retail environments.
“Over the last year, LXE has seen strong interest from retailers in the convenience store market,’ comments Stephen Newell, newly appointed general manager of LXE. “Our advanced work with RedPrairie ensures that customers are presented with a best-in-class solution designed to meet the inventory-optimization needs of fuel and convenience store retailers.”
