An unmanned automated tugger vehicle (ATV) eliminates wasted resources by freeing the operator to perform other functions, according to Egemin Automation. The company introduced at ProMat an ATV that will run in either manual or automatic mode. Two models are available: 10,000- or 35,000-pound capacity, with laser, inertial, or wire guidance navigation options, or a combination of two or more navigation options. "The unmanned ATV is useful in distribution operations, such as unloading a truck and moving materials to rack storage, as well as in replenishment operations," said Yves Gazin, director of marketing and sales support.
