Modern Materials Handling study names top lift truck manufacturers

Modern announces the findings of its first-ever Lift Truck Customer Satisfaction Study.

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 10/3/2008

Modern Materials Handling recently announced its first-ever Lift Truck Customer Satisfaction Study, a comprehensive research project designed to gauge user satisfaction with the lift trucks (including forklifts) used in manufacturing, distribution and logistics facilities.

Modern’s study, conducted in spring of 2008, will help lift truck manufacturers better understand the market’s perception of their brands so they can more accurately target product and service improvements. The research is also intended to assist buyers with their purchase decisions.

Modern’s Lift Truck Customer Satisfaction Study focuses on 40 product and brand attributes distributed among six categories. Modern Materials Handling congratulates the following highest-ranking manufacturer overall and in each of the six categories:

  • Overall Satisfaction: Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc.

  • Product Quality: Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc.

  • Value: Clark Material Handling

  • Service: Raymond Corporation

  • Product Features: Crown Equipment Corporation

  • Environmental Sustainability: CAT Lift Trucks

  • Performance: Crown Equipment Corporation

The study also reveals findings in the following areas:

  • Attributes most important to buyers

  • Brand ratings for each category

  • Brand ratings for each attribute

  • Brand strengths and weaknesses

  • Purchasing data and time frames

The universe of respondents represents more than 1,300 materials handling professionals receiving Modern Materials Handling, Material Handling Product News and Logistics Management who evaluate, specify and purchase lift trucks in their manufacturing, distribution logistics facilities.

The full report will be available in November. Please contact Brian Ceraolo at bceraolo@reedbusiness.com for more information.
