MHPN Product of the Day: High-capacity spiral conveyors

To handle taller units and heavier loads, high capacity spirals are engin-eered to carry 75 pounds per linear foot of conveyor at speeds up to 200 feet per minute.

Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 11/6/2009

To handle taller units and heavier loads, high capacity spirals are engin-eered to carry 75 pounds per linear foot of conveyor at speeds up to 200 feet per minute. The spirals can start and stop fully loaded and use less floor space than conventional conveyors. The systems’ angle of incline is between 9 and 11 degrees to safeguard against sliding or tumbling. Only one drive motor is needed to power the conveyor, and most spirals are shipped pre-assembled and pre-tested to reduce time and cost of installation. Features include chain slats with low friction operation to facilitate high speed, low noise, smooth operation and long life. Ryson International, 757-898-1530, www.ryson.com.
