REMSTAR International has acquired the horizontal carousel product line of Raymond Corp., Greene, N.Y.Remstar has been the exclusive marketer and distributor of this line; now it will manufacture the carousels as well.
"Globally, we have seen growing interest in open, automated storage and retrieval systems, and have been ramping up to ensure we continue to deliver to our customers the most advanced integration technology available," says REMSTAR president Gary E. Gould.
Marking its 50th anniversary, Dearborn Mid-West Conveyor Co. has grown 260 times since its inception in 1947, notes Wes Paisley, president. The Detroit, Mich. company traces its roots to Dearborn Fabricating & Engineering Co., Mid-West Conveyor Co., Taylor and Gaskin, and Unified Industries. Dearborn provides integrated systems, including overhead cranes and conveyors, for a broad range of applications.
Munck Automation Technology, Inc. and NDC Automation, Inc. have formed a strategic alliance. Munck makes automatic guided vehicle (AGV) systems and automated storage and retrieval systems. NDC provides AGV control and guidance technology along with supporting services to OEMs and system integrators who supply AGV systems.
OTTO, a leading injection molding company based in Germany, has formed OTTO Material Handling, Inc., based in Charlotte, N.C. The new company will concentrate solely on the production, marketing, and sales of plastic returnable materials handling containers; it also will take over the responsibility for production and distribution of the attached lid containers and collapsible bulk boxes previously manufactured by OTTO Industries, Inc. The company has also introduced its new 48 in by 45 in pallet with 48 in footprint, and collapsible bulk boxes made from durable high-density polyethylene for large industrial applications.
