Fore! 8 handicap no help on this golf course
By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 2/1/1998
APICS-The Educational Society for Resource Management-will hold workshops this year for manufacturing execs. Included is one that tees up its topic by approaching the course's goal, learning to improve manufacturing-in this case, golf clubs-from a different direction. Off the fairway, perhaps, this approach is not way out of bounds. Here's why: The session "Making MRP II Work for You," May 4-5, Atlanta is not your typical instructor-led seminar. Instead, it centers around a computer simulation of the golf club maker.
Through simulation, attendees are expected to achieve a better understanding of MRP II, manufacturing resource planning, and the business functions that impact it. This course repeats Sept. 14-15, Toronto, and Nov. 5-6, Nashville.
