Offering significant ergonomic advantages, the RR 5000S reach truck, one of this company's series 5000 models, has a number of innovative features to enhance productivity. The RR 5000S also is a fast truck; it accelerates from 0 to 6 mph in 6.8 sec. unloaded and in 10.6 sec. loaded. And its lift speed (unloaded) of up to 138 ft/minute is 58% better than the industry average, according to the manufacturer.Ergonomic features start in the truck's cab, or "work relief center." Operators may select from a range of positions for the steering column and multi-task control, as well as adjust working posture settings (sitting, leaning, or standing).
A seated position reduces fatigue when the operator travels long distances or over rough floors. A fold-out suspended seat and upper pedal arrangement provide relief while maintaining the same relative eye level as the standing position. The versatile lean pad easily folds up or down, and adds to operator comfort.
The standing position offers a low step height (9.9 in.) and larger compartment opening, cutting fatigue and easing entry to or exit from the truck. Other operator comfort features include a suspended floorboard to reduce vibration and an expanded footwell.
Thermal management on the reach trucks in this series reduces heat-generating components by positioning them away from the operator's compartment. Additional padding also insulates the cab from heat buildup; and, finally, air paths are located in key positions throughout the truck.
