National Manufacturing Week going online
By Martha Spizziri -- Modern Materials Handling, 2/1/1998
You may have noticed this month's issue is heavy on manufacturing-related stories. Besides our usual manufacturing case history, there's also a special report on manufacturing and the supply chain, beginning on Page 40.That's because National Manufacturing Week is fast approaching. The show-really four trade shows in one-takes place at Chicago's McCormick Place convention center March 16 through 19. And now through March, you'll find extra coverage of the show both in these pages and online.
This month you can visit Modern Materials Handling's parent site, Manufacturing Marketplace, for advance information on National Manufacturing Week events and registration. During the show, we'll bring you live daily news directly from the show floor, including reports on keynote speeches, conference sessions, and new products introduced at the show. Just visit Modern Materials Handling Online or Manufacturing Marketplace during the show for a link to the live coverage (see box below for the URLs). Even after the show is over, you'll want to visit the site for a wrap-up of news and events.
This month on Scan Tech News Online, you can discover how to avoid mistakes commonly made in the implementation of automatic data collection (ADC) systems. Scan Tech News columnist Ivan Jeanblanc will present real-life ADC bloopers, available exclusively on the Web. Go to the home page and just click on 'Bloopers.'
We'll also continue our discussion forum on expanding and upgrading ADC hardware and software on the Scan Tech News site. To join in the discussion or read others' advice, visit the site and click 'Discussions' in the green bar on the left side of the home page.
