Here are some of the newer and more notable products crossing our editors' desks in recent months.

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 3/1/1998

This adjustable locking hub device (VARILOC) works in products and applications requiring adjustments with positive locking at a wide spectrum of points. It has the capability to achieve minimum angular adjustments in increments of less than than one degree.

The rotary hub device is expected to have a number of applications, including uses in ergonomic enablers, operator assist equipment, end effectors, articulating arms, lift tables, parts presentation racks, and other materials handling devices, according to the manufacturer.

Combining positive locking with ease of operation, the hub precisely adjusts and locks at predetermined intervals. Capable of manufacture in steel, plastic, aluminum or other materials, a steel prototype of the hub has been tested to withstand more than 6,000 inch pounds.

Methods to activate the hub device include direct push button, remote lever or cable, and powered release.
