Metros joins Mannesmann Dematic AG Board
Mannesmann Dematic's Metros: Overseeing global systems activities.

Pete Metros has been appointed a member of the Board of Mannesmann Dematic AG, the first American to be named to this high post. Metros, president of Mannesmann Dematic Systems, is responsible for the activities of the Systems Division worldwide.Metros succeeds Wolfgang Vogl, who has taken on other duties in the Mannesmann Group.
With the appointment of Metros, Mannesmann Dematic continues to pursue its corporate globalization goals. In 1997, more than 80% of Mannesmann Dematic's $2.1 billion business was generated from outside of Germany. This total represents an increase of 25% over 1996 levels.
Metros successfully contributed to this growth as president of Mannesmann Dematic Rapistan Corp.
Since becoming part of Mannesmann Dematic five years ago, Rapistan Systems' sales volume grew to $555 million in 1997. Rapistan Systems continues to satisfy customers' automated material handling systems needs by drawing upon innovative designs, productive manufacturing, effective applications, and re-sponsive service support from the global organization.
