Lead time to install plastic chain conveyor

Purchaser's expectation of time needed to have the system running after award of order

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 5/1/1998

When meeting customer expectations for new plastic chain conveyor systems, speed of installation and delivery of spare parts are important considerations. FlexLink Systems USA surveyed customers for systems that it and competitors supply and found: Within 8 weeks of awarding an order for a new system, 62% of respondents reported to Total Research, Princeton, N.J., that they require installation of the complete system. For their conveyor component requirements, more than 75% need delivery within 6 weeks, and among that group, 46% demand delivery within just 4 weeks.
