A new symbol of our old commitment
By Raymond A. Kulwiec -- Modern Materials Handling, 6/1/1998
You may have noticed that something new has been added to our cover this month. The orange funnel shape followed by "Cahners" in blue is the logo of Cahners Business Information, the publishing parent of Modern Materials Handling. The company carries the name of its founder, Norman Cahners, who returned from naval duty in World War II to start a magazine called The Palletizer in May 1946. After a few months, the publication was renamed Modern Materials Handling.Today Cahners publishes more than 130 different publications in 19 markets, more than 200 directories and databases, and more than 100 web sites and Internet communities.
We felt that associating two leading names in the field, Modern Materials Handling and Cahners provides real advantages and synergies.
The Cahners logo is meant to symbolize our commitment to provide you with the critical, timely information you need in order to do your job properly and succeed. The funnel shape of the graphic mark suggests our core product-insight-that has been funneled, distilled, and filtered from the vast abundance of available data, to help you along that path to success.
Success depends on your being able to cope with the fast-moving business world we are in today. Professionals like yourselves are coping with unprecedented change. The rules are unfamiliar. Competition is intensifying, markets fragment, and product cycles shorten.
We are here to make a complex world more coherent for you, to put events into context, anticipate trends, and add new insights and facts.
As we inaugurate our new company logo, we at Modern Materials Handling renew our pledge to do our part to be your partner in making change your ally rather than your enemy. We appreciate the opportunity to help.
