Handler does jobs of eight

The editors covered a number of innovative products and systems at press conferences and presentations held during the 1998 North American Material Handling Show and Forum in Detroit. The following is a sampling of what we saw.

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 6/1/1998

Versatile attachments make the Universal-Lift a crane, cable lift, personnel maintenance lift, coil reel and roll lifter, shovel bucket and boom crane. Because the unit takes the place of eight separate handlers, users save money and floor space. Safety features include a hydraulic system with a pressure relief valve to prevent overloading. The control handle immediately shuts down if warranted, and a horn alerts others to possible dangers. Air Technical Industries 440-951-5191
