PC-based control product

The editors covered a number of innovative products and systems at press conferences and presentations held during the 1998 North American Material Handling Show and Forum in Detroit. The following is a sampling of what we saw.

Steeplechase Software featured an industrial application for PC-based controls for conveyors and other materials handling equipment, the VLC Diagnostic Manager. When equipment fails on the shop floor, the software is used to troubleshoot and facilitate restoration of equipment. As a result, downtime costs can be lowered, and productivity and throughput improved.
