Shuert named 'Thermoformer of the year' by SPE

Lyle Shuert, president, Shuert Industries, Sterling Heights, Mich., was named "Thermoformer of the year" by the Society of Plastics Engineers. The award is annually given to an individual who have made a lasting impression on the thermoforming industry.

Shuert's company has designed and tooled hundreds of different applications using plastic twin-sheet thermoforming technology.

Most recently, Shuert introduced twin-sheet technology to the automotive industry in the form of original equipment parts. Shuert was also instrumental in selling the U.S. Postal Service on the idea of using a twin-sheet thermoformed pallet for the mail.
