Symbol's WMS line in new hands

Logistics Technology Group (LTG), a new holding company, has bought out the Dispatcher-CS warehouse management systems product line of Symbol Technologies for $20 million. LTG has offices in Waukesha, Wis. and Charlotte, N.C., and Wucombe, Bucks, in the U.K.There are more than 70 installations of these WMS products worldwide, with 3M, Glaxo Wellcome, and Motorola among the users. The system is a full functional Unix, NT, and Oracle-based WMS.
Schroder Ventures, a private equity group, is backing a U.K. and U.S. team overseeing the line.
