See our trade show library
By Martha Spizziri -- Modern Materials Handling, 8/1/1998
A new feature on Modern Materials Handling Online is our trade show library. Check in at the library to see our reports from the past year's trade shows. The guide includes coverage we've done in the print edition and online, all gathered in one place. Included are industry news, new product descriptions, and post-show analysis of emerging trends in the industry. A similar library for automatic data capture trade shows exists on our sister site, ADC News & Solutions Online. Also, as promised, we've added a link directly from our home page to this year's Plant and Warehouse Planning Issue. To recap, this year's edition focuses on planning for the new millennium. It addresses cutting edge, developing techniques in materials handling: (1) Crossdocking, (2) Order-assembly centers, (3) Adaptable manufacturing, (4) Value-added service centers, (5) Flow-thru warehousing, and (6) Postponement systems.
This issue also includes a reference guide to current literature.
Starting this month, our sister site ADC News & Solutions Online will begin providing information on this year's Scan-Tech trade show. And as always, we'll provide live reports from the show in September. Also on ADC News & Solutions, look for the latest on standards in our exclusive online column by Steve Halliday, technical director of AIM International. You'll also find the latest automatic data capture blooper.
Starting this month, the column will bring you updates on materials handling related web sites. First up: Steel King Industries has launched a site at www.steelking.com. It includes information on the company's racks, protective railings, and containers and allows you to request literature from the company. The site also includes a list of the company's distributors, and it allows you to download a copy of its Pallet Rack User's Manual.
