Expanding the manufacturer's line of counterbalanced electric lift trucks to include stand-up end-control models, these forklifts feature ergonomic benefits for operator comfort and ease of control. Capacities of the EC15KS to EC25KS trucks are 3,000 to 5,000 lb.Users of stand-up trucks were interviewed to determine opinions and help define features. The resulting design combines ergonomics of the manufacturer's reach truck side-stance operator design with a proven, easy-to-use control handle. This GE controller, moreover, has half the component parts and is said to offer more features than similar transistor controllers on competitive trucks.
Larger tires on this stand-up truck help it clear warehouse dock plates, a feature suggested by operators interviewed prior to the truck's design. Larger tires also offer improved traction on warehouse floor surfaces.
