VNA electric lifts to 25 ft

This issue's 'Product Focus' highlights recent additions to the forklift market as shown at press events and trade shows and from manufacturer's information crossing our editors' desks.

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 1/1/1999

This 48-volt electric lift truck for very narrow aisle operations has lift capacity ranging from 3,000 to 2,500 lb at 25 ft. Based on the manufacturer's SLT line of trucks, this SwingMast SLT 30 HLC model features a new transistorized GE high performance control package.

Transport and lift speeds are said to be faster with the 48-volt system and GE controls than other VNA trucks, increasing throughput and reducing operation costs.

With the new control package there are separate modules for the transport motor and hydraulic pump motor. Each is fully programmable by the dealer to fit a customer's specific applications. This "plug and play" feature permits quick servicing and shorter downtime if service is necessary.

The SLT 30 HLC truck also is multifunctional in that it can serve as a side-loader to handle items such as lumber and pipe, or act as a front loading truck for plant or warehouse duty.

Standard features include a three-wheel configuration, three-stage mast, and full mast tilt of 3-deg forward, 4-deg rearward. Tilt is available at all times.
