Truck maneuvers in tight spaces

This issue's 'Product Focus' highlights recent additions to the forklift market as shown at press events and trade shows and from manufacturer's information crossing our editors' desks.

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 1/1/1999

With its tight turning radius, the Space Champ lift truck allows operators to maneuver well within small aisles and confined areas. This feature, combined with lift capacities of 13,500 to 15,500 lb, makes the truck suitable for a variety of applications in the paper, steel, and warehousing industries.

A hydrostatic transmission provides power for the truck while reducing the number of components requiring maintenance. Wet disc brakes are entirely maintenance free, moreover, and withstand severe loading conditions over long work periods with no wear of brake components or fading, the manufacturer says.

Within the operator compartment, a number of items are fully adjustable, including seat, steering wheel, and hydraulic controls. Ample leg room combined with a seat belt and hip restraint maintain a high level of operator safety.
