The Swiss Post has chosen the portable Barman laser terminal for its project package 2000.Post offices all over Switzerland will be equipped with the portable terminals and interfaces connected by modem to a central computer system.
Equipped with a laser reading head and four function keys, the Post will be able to accomplish the complete tracking of postal shipments.
Incorporating an internal real-time clock, Barman laser uses bar code identification and capture of the shipment while automatically tracking the data and time.
Equipped with a long-life battery, it automatically recharges while the terminal is transmitting the stored data.
