Material Handling Industry elects new CEO

Material Handling Industry recently announced the retirement of A.L. Leffler, chief executive officer. John B. Nofsinger was elected CEO by the Material Handling Industry board of governors. Nofsinger will also be chairman of the Material Handling Institute.Leffler joined in 1985 as executive vice president and chief operating officer. He became CEO in 1987. He served as chairman and president of the Material Handling Institute and chairman of the board of Event Planning International Corp. Leffler also served as a board member of the Industry and the Materials Handling & Management Society (MHMS).
In addition, Leffler was the recipient of the Norman L. Cahners award for outstanding leadership in materials handling education from Material Handling Education Foundation, Inc. (MHEFI). He also received the William T. Shirk Service award for his contribution to the material handling and management profession.
Nofsinger, a member of the Industry staff since 1986, initially served as director of administration followed by vice president of marketing and operations, and later as COO. He also serves on several industry organizations.
Furthermore, Nofsinger serves as a board member of the Industry, MHMS, MHEFI, Event Planning International Corp., and the Automation Forum.
