More for you on the Web
By Gary Forger -- Modern Materials Handling, 6/1/1999
In a few short years, the web has become a major provider of information for industry professionals such as yourselves, our readers. Increasingly, people are realizing that print and electronic media coexist very well, and in fact complement each other. Many of you have come to realize that MMH in print and MMH online provide their own special brands of information service. And, the tie that binds our readers to each medium is a need and interest in current materials handling information presented in various ways and formats. In my opinion, print and electronic media will continue to coexist and complement each other in the same manner as do TV, radio, and movies. Each has its own reason for existing and providing a service. If you haven't checked out the MMH website, I suggest you do so today: www.mmh.com. But don't stop there. If you are involved in manufacturing industries and related activities in the supply chain, there's a much broader website that you will also find to be of great interest and value. It's called "Manufacturing Marketplace." Check it out at www.manufacturing.net. Or, from the MMH site, click on "Manufacturing Marketplace."
This site is produced by our parent, Cahners Business Information. It includes editorial content from MMH and 22 other Cahners manufacturing-related publications. Also included are news stories, an exclusive stock index, original editorial analysis, and much more. The idea is to provide information for decision-making throughout the entire manufacturing supply chain, from design on through implementation and delivery.
The expanded site includes vertical "communities of interest" that focus on automation and controls, design engineering/development, manufacturing processes, plant operations, and supply chain segments. And, vertical directories are provided that cover logistics, distribution, materials handling, plant operations, and design engineering/development areas with access to industry-specific suppliers, products, and services.
I am sure that your interest in information on the entire manufacturing supply chain will be the tie that binds you to this broader website just as your interest in materials handling brought you to mmh.com.
See you on the Web! You can't afford to miss it.
