Crown receives design recognition
Crown's RR 5000 and the RR 500S series wins best of category, equipment.; The wave work assist vehicle helps capture four IDEA awards.

Crown Equipment Corporation recently garnered four awards from the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and an additional honor from the Industrial Designers magazine Annual Design Review.Crown's newest products, the RR 5000 and RR 5000S series reach trucks and the Wave work assist vehicle, were recognized with three gold and one silver Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEA).
In another award, the RR 5000 and the RR 5000S series reach trucks were selected by Industrial Designers magazine for its 45th annual design review for best of category, equipment.
In the IDSA competition, a record 1,131 entries were received for the 1999 contest. The IDEA jury honored 36 designs with gold awards. Another 60 silvers and 68 bronzes were given for a total of 164 awards.
The IDEA has become the world's most prestigious recognition of excellence in the design profession. Fifteen jurors selected winners during two and a half days of intense evaluation and debate.
