Arm lets workers lift heavy loads alone

Here are some new products that have crossed our editors' desks recently.

This hydraulic lifting arm is designed to let one person maneuver loads up to 1,500 lbs. easily and safely. The unit can reach into and under objects that ordinary lifting equipment can't, the manufacturer says. It moves loads 360 degrees horizontally and has a stationary reach of up to 10 feet. The lift also is designed to handle heavy, off-center loads. Stopped loads are balanced automatically and stay at a constant level.
