What you "see" is what you get

As the saying goes, foresight is better than hindsight when it comes to decision-making. But "seeing" how a conveyor system will function before it's in place is a major assist in deciding whether or not to invest.Mathews Conveyor (Danville, Ky.) provides this up-front pictorial preview by using AutoMod simulation to predict how a conveyor will perform. In fact, Mathews writes simulation results into the sales contract.
Application engineer Woody Fairchild writes the simulations, which answer "what-if" questions about the desired system. The software's pre-structured materials handling templates facilitate the process. "The templates are built-in," says Fairchild, "so I don't waste a lot of time writing and testing a new model. That capability is already there, tested many times before by others."
The graphics and animation are especially useful in communicating ideas. Once customers see a simulation model in action, their confidence is significantly increased that what they're seeing is, in fact, what they'll actually be getting.
AutoMod differs from other simulation systems in its ability to deal with the physical elements of a system in physical (graphical) terms and the logical elements of a system in logical terms. All graphics are represented in 3-D space and scale with unlimited viewing control, including: translation, rotation, scale, light-sourced solids, perspective, and continuous motion viewing.
AutoMod uses CAD-like features to define the physical layout of materials handling, distribution, and manufacturing systems. The program's powerful graphical interface accurately captures the physical constraints of distance, size, and space in 3-D.
