Get ready for OSHA's forklift training rules
By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 11/1/1999
Time is fast running out to be set to comply with OSHA's rules on training forklift operators. By December 1, U.S. employers are required to ensure that their operators of powered industrial trucks have been trained and tested on any and all of the specific models or types they operate. Any new hires after that date must receive classroom and hands-on training before giving them the keys to the vehicles.
