The 1999 Westpack show was one of the most successful shows in the event's history, according to Howard Friedman, industry vice president Reed Packaging Exhibitions, sponsor of the event. "There was excellent buying representation from all manufacturing segments looking to source packaging materials, supplies, and services," he says. "We are very pleased with the show's success."The show was so successful that the event was kept open half an hour later on the first day to accommodate the heavy traffic of attendees still doing business at the time of closing. Over 758 exhibiting companies attracted a total of 18,247 industry professionals, including 12,985 attendees and 5,262 exhibitors.
Over half of the exhibitors launched new products and services to the western region marketplace.
Topics at the conference included packaging and the World Wide Web, five steps to packaging that sells, and successful systems integration of packaging.
