Banks honored for distinguished service

Jerry Banks, Ph.D., director of simulation technology at AutoSimulations, was named this year's recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences College (INFORMS) on Simulation."It is very gratifying to be acknowledged by my colleagues and the distinguished INFORMS College on Simulation Selection Committee," says Banks. "My problem is that I just can't say no to a request for help."
The award is presented to individuals to recognize their outstanding service and contribution to the simulation software industry. Nominated by their peers, the names of individuals providing longstanding, exceptional service to the simulation community for 15 years or longer are submitted for consideration of this accolade.
Banks joined Auto-Simulations in 1999 to direct the company's simulation technology for its AutoMod simulation software product. A former professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Banks brings over 30 years of experience in simulation consulting and research to AutoSimulations. Other achievements include authoring and editing more than 10 books and numerous technical papers.
