Manugistics buys STG

By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 3/1/2001

Manugistics Group Inc., the Rockville, Md. supplier of supply chain management software, has bought privately held STG Holding, Inc., London, England. STG develops advanced strategic, tactical, and operational planning, scheduling, and simulation software for single- and multi-factory enterprises for discrete manufacturers.

With the acquisition, Manugistics can now compete in a segment of the manufacturing management software market currently dominated by its competitor, i2 Technologies, Inc.

"STG's capabilities will enable Manugistics to offer even more advanced and comprehensive manufacturing solutions to our clients," says Greg Owens, Manugistics chief executive officer and chairman designate.
