Printronix on the move
By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 5/1/2000
Printronix (Irvine, Ca), a leader in enterprise resource planning printing solutions, has announced two agreements that will expand distribution of its printers and consumables.
In one agreement, Printronix has made Integrated Labeling Systems, Inc. (ILS) of Nashua, N.H. a reseller of printing solutions and related products for the manufacturing, wholesale distribution, retail, and health care industries in the Northeast. "Printronix's global printing multi-technologies, ERP and SAP R/3 solutions, and thermal printing are a natural step in the expanding services that ILS will offer its customers," says Michael K. Jacobs, Printronix vice president, Americas distribution sales.
Elsewhere, Printronix signed an agreement with Sony Chemicals Corporation of America, a subsidiary of Sony Chemicals Corp., located in Mt. Pleasant, PA, authorizing Sony to manufacture and distribute thermal ribbons.
The agreement will allow Printronix distributors, resellers, and OEM partners to purchase Genuine Printronix' ribbons directly from Sony at very competitive pricing. According to Terry Pruett, director of thermal product marketing for Printronix, the deal is an important development for distributors and resellers of those products.
"The agressive pricing and selective distribution included in the plan will truly bolster reseller margins."
