Insul-8 acquires Drivecon

Insul-8 Corp. has acquired Drivecon Corp., uniting two suppliers in the materials handling industry. Drivecon provides AC variable frequency and flux vector motor controls, DC controls, engineered systems, pendant pushbuttons, motors, and accessories. Insul-8's product line includes the original insulated figure 8 conductor bar, along with cable and hose reels, slip rings, cable festoon systems, and pushbutton pendant stations.

"In the short term, we can now offer a total product package to the overhead materials handling market. Long term, we will be able to enhance our research and development capabilities, add depth to our staff to better serve our customers, and expand our sales and marketing efforts," says Richard M. Parat, president of Drivecon.
