The voice of e-commerce

"Businesses and consumers expect flawless online order fulfillment and rapid delivery of goods," said Ken Finkel, vice president of business development for Voxware, Inc., at the Voice-Based Web Commerce conference sponsored by Active Communications International.
Finkel went on to say that one out of five online orders was not delivered correctly or on time just one year ago. He also says studies have shown that customers who receive incorrect merchandise usually do not return to that Web site.
According to Finkel, speech-based systems automate the fulfillment process and improve productivity. These systems "enable workers to better focus on customer orders and returns by providing instant feedback and verification, improving the accuracy of filled orders."
"As pressures on the supply chain continue to increase, speech-based solutions will remain the best way to improve logistics and fulfillment operations. Flawless order fulfillment equals satisfied and repeat customers," Finkel concluded.
