Engineered Products acquires HIS

Handling Systems International, Inc. (HIS), a manufacturer of deep flow pallet storage systems, has been acquired by Engineered Products. The acquisition will strengthen Engineered Products' presence in storage and staging systems and establish a stronger foothold in key industries for the growing logistics market.

The manufacturing and engineering of deep flow systems will be moved to Engineered Products' primary manufacturing and engineering facilities in Greenville, S.C. A sales and service office will be maintained in Lancaster to better support the Northeastern customers and market.

According to Chuck Rouse, vice president of Engineered Products, "This alliance provides Engineered Products with the opportunity to expand our market and geographic diversification. HIS enhances our product offerings by providing a much deeper technological base and expanded resources for applications like high- density storage supporting a pick operation. The combining of our two companies will immediately expand the range of quality and service to our customers."
