Materials
processes guideline
Automakers now recognize that the most effective and
efficient way to improve the materials management function is to develop one
industry-accepted guideline. Therefore, Daimler-Chrysler Corp., Ford Motor Co.,
and General Motors Corp., have announced their support of the Automotive
Industry Action Group's (AIAG) efforts to provide a common approach to materials
management processes. This new approach is outlined in AIAG's Materials
Management Operations Guideline document.
