Sonica acquired by Swisslog

Sonica Software Corp., a provider of warehouse management and Internet fulfillment solutions, has been acquired by Swisslog AG, a leading provider of information and materials handling solutions for the Internet fulfillment and e-commerce market on a global basis.

The deal is expected to benefit both companies, says Steve Simmerman, business development for Sonica. "With a $450 million parent company behind us, Sonica now has the size and financial strength to compete with anyone on a global basis," says Simmerman.

Adds Urs Birrer, CEO of Swisslog Software AG, "The future of business is e-commerce. With the addition of Sonica's WMS capabilities, we can offer a completely integrated e-commerce fulfillment suite, from the click of a mouse to delivery to the house."
