Supply-Chain Council announces awards

The Supply-Chain Council will now offer awards for excellence in supply chains operations and management. The first annual award winners will be announced at the Supply-Chain World North America Conference and Exhibition on April 3, 2001 at the Hilton Riverside (New Orleans, La.).
Four individual awards will be given. The award for supply chain operational excellence recognizes organizations that have demonstrated excellence in the design, operation, or improvement of the significant components of the supply chain they operate.
The award for supply chain academic excellence will be awarded to the organization that has contributed most to advancing supply chain information through contributions made through applied research.
The award for supply chain management technology excellence will be presented to the organization that has developed a methodology or product that enables superior performance in supply chain operations.
The global award for supply chain excellence will be presented to the organization that has made the greatest contribution to demonstrating or advancing supply chain management within the last year. Only winners of the other three awards are eligible.
