Raising the bar in e-fulfillment

Calling itself "the oldest startup you'll see this year," HighJump Software has taken even closer aim on the need to improve e-fulfillment efficiencies.
But as Paul Steen, business development manager at HighJump, points out, it's not as if HighJump is unfamiliar with that arena.
Previously known as Data Collection Systems, the 14-year old Eden Prairie, Minn. company has long offered a warehouse management system and an earlier, simpler version of its e-fulfillment package.
Steen explained that the new offering, e-Fulfillment Advantage v2.0, is designed to improve customer service while decreasing fulfillment costs.
One new module, Advantage Dashboard, provides managers with Web-based visibility into fulfillment operations, presenting critical information on shipment volumes and worker productivity.
The other new module, Advantage Source, allows e-businesses with multiple distribution centers to optimally allocate orders among different centers and suppliers.
"This isn't just about warehousing. It's about giving everyone involved visibility into the system and the reassurance that inventory is available at the time of the order," says Steen.
