Past MMH publisher becomes AIDC 100 member
By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 12/1/2000
Bill Sbordon, who was once vice president and publishing director of Modern Materials Handling, was named a member of the AIDC 100 for the year 2000. The AIDC 100 is a group dedicated to recognizing major contributors to automatic identification and data capture (AIDC).
"The honor came completely unexpected and I was very pleased at having been recognized," says Sbordon.
In the 1970's, the newly formed AIDC vendors group formed AIM as a product section within the Material Handling Institute. Sbordon recognized the potential for AIDC and informally adopted AIM and became a champion of its membership within the materials handling industry.
Sbordon was also the first to research, prepare, and publish a comprehensive study of the AIDC market size and potential in the manufacturing environment.
