Supply chain model expanded
By Staff -- Modern Materials Handling, 12/1/2000
The Supply-Chain Council has released the fourth version of its SCOR-model for supply chain management. It is the first, since the first version appeared in 1996, to substantively expand the scope of the model, says Scott Stephens, CTO of the Supply-Chain Council. Additionally, version 4.0 introduces significant changes in the use of the metrics and performance attributes, says Stephens.
The most significant change is the inclusion of returns to a level 1 process. This extends the model into the area of post-delivery customer support.
SCOR 4.0 is also easier to apply to the production of intangible goods and can more easily measure the production of software and services performance.
