Schneider Electric, a supplier of automation, industrial control, and electrical distribution solutions, has acquired Quantronix, Inc. and its line of automated cubing and weighing solutions for materials handling, warehouse management, and transportation applications.
The acquisition of Quantronix, a leading U.S. maker of automated cubing and weighing solutions for materials handling, warehouse management, and transportation applications, will help Schneider meet the high demand for products that are building the global Web infrastructure.
Schneider also expects to leverage its global sales and technical support capabilities and its expertise in packaging and conveying applications to further expand its materials handling business.
Quantronix will receive resources to support its rapidly growing customer base in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
"We believe the acquisition by Schneider will create a strong and synergistic partnership," says Quantronix president Clark P. Skeen. "Becoming a part of the Schneider team will provide valuable resources enabling us to improve our research and development, product support, and sales efforts."
